Adidas at the New Yorker DOCK.ONE in 2016:
An event of a somewhat different kind was held last week at the New Yorker DOCK.ONE in Cologne. Light Event Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH was instructed by the act.³ agency to design and build an obstacle course and it took just 10 days to produce the quirky results. The centrepiece was the “cage”, a rig encased in wire mesh fencing containing various obstacles, such as a black light tunnel and a fog room but also a 5m-high “swing”, duly analysed for load-bearing capacity and designed to hold ropes which the athletes had to claw their way up. Parallel to the cage was a landing pit which was dressed for spectacular effect as the main point to photograph the new collection of adidas handball shoes.
Several metres of square trussing were used along with special effect machines and plenty of wash lights comprising JB Lighting Sparx 10, Martin Mac Quantum Profiles and ROBE Robin Pointe moving heads. The sound system for the hall and gallery was put together with d&b models like the T10, M4 and Y-SUB.
